Growing your program can lead to higher commission earnings. Below are tips to help define your strategy and expand your partnerships.
Perform Marketing Analysis
In the Reporting Interface, use the date range menu to compare two periods when running a report. Compare your performance in these two periods and look for patterns. We recommend running a Sales and Activity report to identify which advertisers generate more revenue during certain months. Based on this research, create a list of advertisers you want to optimize your partnerships with.
Prepare Your Calendar
Create a marketing calendar. Focus on important retail holidays and events and arrange placements and other opportunities around those dates.
Promote Your Program
- Update your marketing channel details in the dashboard to help advertisers find you.
- Present your website to potential partners with a publisher sell sheet and rate card for securing paid website placements. Set your pricing, but do not dismiss an advertiser if they cannot meet your number. Accepting different types of offers can help you develop partnerships with advertisers.
- Create or update your media kit with key information to help advertisers decide whether to purchase placements and promote their offers on your site. Provide statistics on your site, success stories, and key dates and promotions.
Develop Partnerships
- Find new advertiser partners using the search tools and recommended advertisers in the dashboard and publisher newsletters sent by Rakuten.
- Apply to relevant advertiser programs, understand rejections, and reapply if appropriate.
- Reach out to advertisers by using the contact information displayed on their advertiser profile. You can view contact information regardless of whether you are partnered with the advertiser.
- Attend any of our global events. These are a great way to network with and meet potential partners.
