Definitions for Common Reporting Fields

Many of the standard reports you can run in the Reporting Interface include the fields listed below. Click the + for definitions:

Impressions

The number of impressions recorded in the period specified.

The number of impressions is the same whether you run a report based on process date or transaction date. This is because an impression is recorded at the time it is served, so the process date is equivalent to the transaction date.

The impression count is updated several times throughout the day.

 Attention

In the case of text links and image links with advertiser-served images, impressions are tracked by a 1x1 pixel in your link code. Impressions will not be tracked if you remove the pixel.

Clicks

The number of clicks recorded in the period specified. This number is the same whether you run a report based on process date or transaction date. This is because a click is recorded at the time it is made, so the process date is equivalent to the transaction date.

The click count is updated several times throughout the day.

Click-Through Rate (CTR%)
The number of clicks divided by the number of impressions.
Orders

The number of unique Order IDs recorded in the specified period. Each Order ID in the selected reporting period is only counted once. In other words, if the same Order ID 12345 is sent every day for a particular week, the number of orders for a report generated for that week would be 1.

Order count is updated as often as it is sent to us by the advertiser.

Orders/Clicks %
The number of orders divided by the number of clicks.
Items

The number of items purchased. This shows the gross number of items transacted in the specified period, meaning all items are included, even cancelled ones. However, a separate column is used to display the items that have been cancelled.

For example, if you see a report that shows Items=100 and Cancelled Items=10, it means that you sold 100 items, but of the 100 items, 10 items were returned. As such, only 90 items were actually sold.

Item count is updated as often as it is sent to us by the advertiser.

Cancelled Items
The number of cancelled transactions in the specified period. The cancelled item count is updated as often as it is sent to us by the advertiser.
Sales
The amount sold in the specified period. Sales data is updated as often as it is sent to us by the advertiser.
Commissions
The commissions for transactions during the specified period. Commission amount is updated as often as it is sent to us by the advertiser.

You can find additional terms not defined above in the Glossary.
