Introduction

Our publisher activation tag is free and easy to install on your website. It enables you to run a lightweight consent solution to gather GDPR consent from users for Rakuten Advertising. This is an easy solution if you do not have any other consent solution.

This feature allows Rakuten Advertising to receive a GDPR consent signal from website users when clicking on an affiliate link. The affiliate link will determine in a click if the consumer is in the scope of GDPR. If they are, it will determine if the consumer has previously consented, or if they have not, it will trigger a pop-up that gives them the option to consent, or not.

While this feature cannot protect you under the GDPR law, Rakuten Advertising can continue to provide you with service in a GDPR-compliant way.

Implementation

After contacting Customer Support to get your personalized tag, install the tag by copying and pasting the code into your website’s header. This activates the tag and communicates with the back-end systems.
