Introduction
Cancellations, returns, and other changes that occur after a sale can complicate the commissioning process. Advertisers might pay you incorrectly and need to make future adjustments to your commission payments. Enhanced Order Locking (EOL) was developed to eliminate this problem. EOL allows enabled advertisers to accurately track, report, and pay commissions only after a customer has consumed and paid for the product they converted on.
EOL has launched in beta with limited availability as we work closely with participating advertisers to ensure the feature meets expectations. As your advertiser partners within the closed beta enable EOL, you will receive notifications from them directly. You can also view whether an advertiser is enabled in the Features and Services tab of their profile.
How It Works
EOL is centered on the concept of unlocked and locked orders:
- An unlocked order is one that can be adjusted by the advertiser. The advertiser can edit the order, add transactions, and make cancellations.
- A locked order can no longer be adjusted or cancelled by the advertiser. Once locked, the order is sent to the invoice for that month.
This is how orders are processed with EOL:
- All new orders reported by the advertiser have an unlocked status.
- Every order is assigned an auto-lock date. This is the date on which the order status will automatically switch from unlocked to locked. The auto-lock date is calculated according to when the order took place. Advertisers also have the option to manually lock orders ahead of the auto-lock date.

You can view an advertiser's auto-lock date in the Features and Services tab of their profile.
- While the order is unlocked, any changes made by the advertiser will trigger the order to be recommissioned.
- Once the order reaches the auto-lock date, it is locked.
- Locked orders are sent to the invoice for that month.
- The invoice is paid by the advertiser.
- You receive your commission. This commission cannot be adjusted or cancelled.

- Accurate Payouts: Commissions are paid out only after the customer has consumed and paid for the product, minimizing the risk that an advertiser claws back your commission payment. This ensures accurate compensation for the sales you drive.
- Enhanced Forecasting: Clear and accurate reporting on commission-eligible events allows you to better forecast your earnings and track your performance.
Reporting
New columns and filters in the Reporting Interface are available to help you track and manage commissions more effectively. These include:
- The Lock Status column, which indicates whether the order is locked, meaning it is eligible for commission, or unlocked, meaning it is not eligible.
- The Order Auto Lock Date column, which shows the date and time in GMT on which the order will automatically lock. Advertisers have until that date and time to edit unlocked orders and manually lock them. The order will be invoiced on that date so you can receive your commission payment.
Additionally, use the Lock Status Report to check whether your transactions are locked or unlocked.
