Publisher Sign Up Process

Introduction

Signing up or registering as a Rakuten Advertising publisher is free. Anyone with a website, blog, or internet presence can join. You will have the opportunity to earn money from your website, email marketing, and social media promotions.

Please review these requirements and recommendations before starting your affiliate marketing efforts.

Sign Up Process

You can sign up online from your computer or mobile device. All major browsers are supported. Follow the steps below to get started.

  1. Go to rakutenadvertising.com.
  2. Click Become a Publisher in the top right corner.
  3. Provide your email, first name, last name, and create a password. Click Register.
  4. A verification email is sent to the address provided.
    • If you do not see the email, check your spam folder, or return to your browser and click Resend verification.
  5. Access the email and click on the verification link.
  6. Click Get started.
  7. Select your Country and, if applicable, your State.
    • This is the country in which you plan to receive your commission.
  8. Select your business setup an Individual or Part of a company, and click Next.

You will be prompted to enter different information depending on your selection. Click the + next to the business setup you selected to view detailed steps:

Individual
  1. Enter your profile name. Click Next.
  2. Select your primary business model. Click Next.
  3. Provide your primary channel-specific URL. This should link directly to your page and will be viewable to advertisers. Click Search.
  4. Enter a description of your channel. Click Next.
  5. Enter your username for any additional channels you may use. Leave blank any you do not use. Click Skip or Next.
  6. Select the number of visitors and views you receive each month. Click Next.
  7. Select the categories you cover. This will help a advertisers find you. Click Next.
  8. Read the Publisher Membership Agreement and Affiliate Network Policies. Check the boxes accepting the terms and click Submit.
  9. You are redirected to the Publisher Dashboard homepage. From there, you can start partnering with advertisers.
Part of a company
  1. Enter the name of the company. Click Next.
  2. Select the company’s business classification. Click Next.
  3. Select the company’s primary business model . Click Next.
  4. Enter the Primary channel URL. Click Search.
  5. Enter your Channel name and any additional description needed. Click Next.
  6. Add any additional channel information you use. Leave blank those you do not. Click Skip or Next.
  7. Provide your traffic information by either:
    • Selecting ranges for unique visitors and page views per month and clicking Next, or
    • Clicking Or link Google Analytics and logging in to your GA account.
  8. Select the categories you cover. This will help a advertisers find you. Click Next.
  9. Read the Publisher Member Agreement and Affiliate Network Policies. Check each box to accept the terms and click Submit.
  10. You are redirected to the Publisher Dashboard homepage. From there, you can start partnering with advertisers.

There are currently two Publisher Dashboards. The Legacy Publisher Dashboard is still accessible while important features are migrated to the New Publisher Dashboard (beta).
