Whether you use banners or text links depends on your site and audience. If you are looking for something that is not going to take up a lot of space, use text links. If you think your audience would prefer a more visual stimulus, choose banners. You can also combine both for maximum effect.

Impression Credit

You can upload banners to your own server but you will not receive credit for any impressions, and they will not be reflected in any of your performance reports. Your click-through and sales information, however, will not be affected.

Changing Banners

Advertisers can update banners with new creative that may be more seasonally relevant or convert better. As long as you do not alter the img src portion of the link code, you can benefit from these updates without making changes to the code.

If you do alter the banner’s img src, you will not benefit from these changes.
